West Carroll News:

"Senior Night" for the baseball team will be Friday 5/4/12.
We will be recognizing the following seniors and their parents prior to the start of the varsity game with Pearl City: Jordan Barr: son of Charlotte Barr & Bernard Barr, Nick Dickau: son of Angela and Jim Dickau, Brian Gilbert: son of Barb and Tom Gilbert, Travis Ritenour: son of Laura Charles & Diane and Kevin Ritenour, Joey Sullivan: son of Jeanie and Scott Sullivan, Zach Whitebread: son of Carla and Gary Whitebread, and Levi Jones: son of Lisa and Matt Jones (will not be present).

We will recognize the following seniors and parents prior to the 4:30 start of the game against Newman: Tygan Cole: daughter of Dawn and Ron Cole, Kim Durward: daughter of Janice and Andrew Durward, Audreana Francke: daughter of Lyn and Ed Francke, and Kelsey Todd: daughter of Deb Todd and the late Doug Todd.

The West Carroll Class of 2012 will hold their commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 13, at 1:00 p.m.
Weather permitting, the ceremony will take place on Massey Field behind the WCHS building in Savanna, otherwise it will be in the WCHS gymnasium.
The class Valedictorians are Patrick Fritz and Melissa Fitzpatrick and the Salutatorian is Garrett Badtke. Class Officers are Tevan Campbell (President), Audri Francke (VP), Nichole Johnson (Secretary), and Katie Starr (Treasurer). Please join us in congratulating the entire class for their hard work and acheivements as new WCHS grads!

West Carroll will be hosting Baseball Regionals from May 14-19, 2012. The Thunder begin at 4:30pm on Monday May 14 at the Thomson baseball field.

DURWARD WINS STATE FFA PROFICIENCY AWARD
Kimberly Durward of Thomson, a member of the West Carroll FFA Chapter, won the State Forage Production Award at the State FFA Proficiency Awards Day held April 14, 2012, at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.

West Carroll's Education Foundation hosted the 2012 Radio-thon
on April 20th from 8:00am-12noon at the West Carroll Primary School in Savanna. The Radio-thon was broadcast on WCCI Radio 100.3 FM. Thank you for your support again this year. The monies donated return to the district through grants at every grade level.

Congratulations to the WCHS Class of 2012 on your acheivements! Good luck in your futures!
