Mrs. Ashby is responsible for the general supervision and educational leadership of West Carroll Primary School. This includes providing educational leadership, promoting educational development of each student, and following all policies and procedures set forth by the West Carroll Board of Education and the Illinois State Board of Education.

Biographical Information:

Jeanette Ashby grew up in Thomson, Illinois. She attended Mount Saint Clare College and earned an associates degree in education with an emphasis in early childhood education. She then attended the University of Dubuque where she earned a bachelors degree in Elementary Education with a minor in psychology. Upon graduation, Jeanette started her teaching career in Savanna, Illinois. While in Savanna she taught second grade, third grade and seventh grade language arts. Jeanette earned her Masters Degree in educational leadership from Western Illinois University. At the time of consolidation, Mrs. Ashby became the Middle School Principal where she served for three years before coming to West Carroll Primary School.

Jeanette is a member of the Illinois Principals Association, Illinois Reading Council, Mount Carroll Rotary, and Thomson Chamber of Commerce.

Jeanette lives in Thomson with her husband and two children. Her son, Ryan, graduated from West Carroll High School and attends Western Illinois University. Her daughter, Morgan, is a student at West Carroll.
